Pneumatic Cloud, 2012

Nylon fabric, MDF board, timber, adjustable steel feet, fans, timer
9,5 x 5,3 x 3,2 m

The slightly wedge-shaped exhibition space opening onto a garden via a glass wall is filled with a large, apparently floating pneumatic shape, a cloud, which almost fills the space. Silent fans generate air pressure that keeps the thin nylon fabric in shape. A timer system intermittently cuts off the fans for brief periods, making the shape wobble slightly and almost touch the surrounding walls. The work plays with the proportions and dimensions of the exhibition space and the spectator.
