Grey Area was the artists' first mid-career retrospective exhibition, arranged by Finnish Art Society in Helsinki Kunsthalle.

The exhibition consisted of 21 works, ranging from large-scale kinetic installations and sound installations to objects, reliefs, silkscreen prints and photographs. Most of the works were existing ones, but some were produced especially for the exhibition and the unique architecture of the building, which is one of the best examples of 1920's classicism in Finland.
